 
        
        The Maintenance Officer reports to the Chief Finance Officer and is responsible for a variety of tasks related to maintaining and improving company facilities and equipment. You will assist in the day-to-day maintenance of all Bega premises and grounds and other related residences where applicable, maintain fleet vehicles, minor carpentry, plumbing, gardening, test and tagging of all electrical equipment, driving instruction of staff going for their Medium - Heavy Rigid (M-HR) licence, and other duties as directed by the Chief Finance Officer.
Essential:
- Experience in repairs and maintenance
- Ability to work quickly and methodically and to be able to help internal and external customers in a friendly and productive manner.
- A current driver’s licence is essential.
- An ability to work unsupervised and within a team.
- Ability to travel and stay overnight/s and ability to work outside normal business hours
- Knowledge and experience in computer use including the use of MS Word and other related programs.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to compile reports.
- Knowledge of the safe use of power tools.
- Ability to communicate well with Indigenous people from different communities and interest groups.
- Cross cultural sensitivity and understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal Communities and people.
- Demonstrate a high commitment to Aboriginal Social and Emotional Wellbeing and customer service.
- A high level of integrity and ethical practice
- Customer service, responsiveness, and team focus
- Ability to assess and identify areas for improvement and development across the organisation.
- Current C Class Drivers Licence.
- Valid Working with Children Check (WA).
- National Criminal History Check Certificate (Police Clearance - valid within 3 months).
