**About the Role**:
The role is ideally based out of the Adelaide metropolitan area, however, applicants based regionally are strongly encouraged to apply. Regular travel is a core part of the position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake safety and compliance inspections of both government-owned and contracted school buses across regional and rural South Australia.
- Provide expert technical advice to internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure adherence to transport regulations and promptly resolve safety or service issues
- Liaise with schools and service providers (such as vehicle dealerships, bus refurbishers, garages, and parts suppliers), to ensure the highest transport standards are maintained.
**Essential Qualifications and Requirements**:
- Trade-qualified Motor Mechanic or equivalent
- Hold a current minimum Medium Rigid (MR) driver's license
- Be willing to undertake regular travel throughout SA
- Willingness to undertake First Aid and 4WD training
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision

**Special Conditions**:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

**Remuneration**:
OPS4 $76,561 - $80,256 per annum (1.0 FTE), plus superannuation (11.5%) and leave loading.
