Salary: $86,943 – $99,864 p.a. plus 17% superannuation
Responsibilities
* Maintain laboratories, equipment and materials in optimal condition, meeting safety, regulatory and accreditation requirements across disciplines.
* Monitor inventories and order reagents, consumables and minor equipment, ensuring timely supply and effective budget use.
* Induct, train and guide students and laboratory users in safe procedures, equipment operation and good laboratory practice.
* Provide flexible support across campuses, including first aid, emergency roles and participation in team projects and meetings.
Qualifications
* Hold a relevant science degree or equivalent combination of laboratory experience, education and technical training.
* Demonstrate experience in chemistry and/or biology laboratories within plant, animal, microbiological, food or soil science.
* Bring strong knowledge of EHS, OGTR, biosecurity, poisons and related laboratory regulatory frameworks.
* Deliver high-quality technical support, troubleshooting equipment issues and implementing practical service improvements for laboratory users.
* Work effectively in busy, changing environments, balancing autonomous tasks with collaborative, multi-disciplinary team activities.
* Possess or be willing to obtain First Aid, relevant vaccinations, Working with Children Check and driver's licence.
