About the Role
This senior leadership position involves ensuring strong governance, assurance, and compliance in all third-party contracting and supplier engagements. You will be responsible for building a trusted supplier base, supporting procurement transformation, and ensuring clear and consistent contracting pathways.
Key responsibilities include leading the design and continuous improvement of contracting processes, embedding legal and commercial safeguards, and managing onboarding processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness.
Additionally, you will drive selected procurement transformation initiatives with strong project governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement. This role requires proactive management and mitigation of risks to ensure all supplier engagements meet legislative, regulatory, and organizational compliance obligations.
As a trusted advisor, you will provide timely guidance and coaching on contracting and compliance matters to schools and business units. You will also monitor onboarding and contracting performance, lead improvement initiatives, and deliver reporting dashboards to inform leadership.
Requirements for success in this position include extensive senior leadership experience in contracting, compliance, and supplier assurance, as well as demonstrated resilience, grit, and professional credibility in navigating complex environments and delivering outcomes under pressure.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in third-party contracting oversight, risk management, and supplier assurance programs, along with strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills, deep knowledge of probity and compliance frameworks, and ability to uplift compliance culture through coaching, training, and accessible tools.
Additional requirements include excellent stakeholder engagement and influence skills, confidence to advise at all levels, tertiary qualifications in procurement, commerce, law, business, or public administration, and preferably CIPS-qualified.
