Position Purpose:
The Complex Support Worker is an essential role responsible for providing safe, responsive, and high-quality care within our supported accommodation services. This position will involve supporting the care team in delivering person-centred care to residents, ensuring their needs are met while promoting independence, dignity, and self-management. The role is best suited for an individual who is compassionate, organized, and able to handle complex situations with professionalism and care.

Key Responsibilities:
Resident Support & Care Delivery:
•Provide person-centred care and support to residents, ensuring that care plans and NDIS goals are followed to enhance independence and quality of life.
•Promote the dignity, independence, and choice of residents through daily support, helping them to achieve their personal goals.
•Provide supervision, encouragement, and empowerment to residents during daily activities and community outings.
•Respond to behavioural or crisis situations using person-centred, trauma-informed approaches.
Operational Management:
•Assist in managing daily operations, including roster management, ensuring that staffing levels meet the needs of residents.
•Support the management of household budgets and resources, ensuring efficient use of funds and supplies.
•Ensure compliance with NDIS Practice Standards, safety regulations, and reporting procedures.
•Participate in audits, continuous improvement initiatives, and incident investigations to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Documentation & Reporting:
•Maintain accurate and detailed documentation such as progress notes, incident reports, medication records, and shift reports.
•Ensure all documentation complies with organisational policies for medication, infection control, manual handling, and safeguarding.
•Escalate any risks or breaches of policy promptly to management and relevant authorities.
Team Support & Development:
•Assist in the mentoring and guidance of support staff, fostering a collaborative and respectful team environment.
•Participate in team meetings, handovers, and debriefs to maintain effective communication and ensure optimal care.
•Identify staff training needs and assist in the facilitation of mandatory training, ensuring that all staff have the skills and knowledge to provide high-quality care.

Key Selection Criteria:
Essential:
•2–3 years' experience in residential disability or community care.
•Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a care environment.
•Certificate IV or Diploma in Disability, Community Services, or a related field.
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with residents, staff, and external stakeholders.
•Working knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards and person-centred care approaches.
•Ability to manage rosters and coordinate team operations effectively.
•Current Driver’s Licence.
•NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check.
•Current First Aid & CPR Certification.
Desirable:
•Experience supporting clients with complex behaviours or dual diagnoses.
•Certificate IV in Leadership & Management (or willingness to obtain).
•Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and positive behaviour support principles.
