As part of TopGroup, this role and the broader HR team support other businesses within the group in a shared services model, including Topex Mining Services, Tophire and Topcamps. To support these teams, we are seeking to appoint a Training & Development Lead to join our HR team at our Subiaco office.

This role provides an exciting opportunity to take the next step in your career. Working closely with the management teams of all businesses, you will play an integral role in improving the effectiveness of site operations and building a high‐performance culture.

What you can expect from the role:

Reporting to the GM Human Resources, the role of the Training & Development Lead is to provide leadership, direction and oversight of the Training & Development function, ensuring high‐quality delivery of training and development activities through effective coordination, while enabling capability development across the business.

Key responsibilities

* Set the direction and priorities for the Training & Development function in alignment with business objectives
* Lead the design and continuous improvement of workforce capability frameworks, development pathways and programs
* Identify current and future workforce capability gaps and implement plans to address them

Team Leadership & Functional Oversight

* Lead, support and provide directions to the Training & Development team, including L&D Coordinator, T&D Coordinator and Induction Facilitator
* Set priorities, allocate work and monitor performance across the team to ensure effective delivery
* Maintain oversight of training coordination, administration and delivery activities to ensure quality, accuracy and timeliness

Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory

* Partner with Operations, HR and key stakeholders to identify training needs and provide advice on workforce capability and development
* Influence and support leaders in workforce planning, progression pathways and capability uplift
* Act as the primary point of contact for training and development matters across the business

Training Governance & Compliance

* Ensure training and compliance requirements are met in line with company and client standards
* Provide oversight of training systems, records and processes to ensure audit readiness and data integrity
* Oversee training matrices, compliance tracking and reporting outputs
* Lead the development and optimisation of training systems, including the LMS and associated processes
* Provide oversight of LMS structure, content governance and user experience to ensure effective delivery and engagement
* Identify and implement improvements to training delivery, coordination and reporting practices
* Research and introduce innovative learning solutions aligned to business needs

External Partnerships & Funding

* Manage relationships with Registered Training Organisations, Apprenticeship Support Network providers and relevant government bodies
* Maintain awareness of accredited training frameworks, funding opportunities and industry requirements
* Oversee and maximise training incentives and funding outcomes

Program Oversight

* Oversee and contribute to key programs including induction (Topdrill 101), Drill School, Traineeships and Apprenticeships to ensure consistency, quality and alignment with business needs
* Ensure programs are regularly reviewed and updated to remain relevant and effective

Skills & Experience

* Experience in Training & Development, Learning & Development or a related field
* Demonstrated experience coordinating or leading training functions within a multi‐site or operational environment
* Experience working with training systems, compliance requirements and workforce capability frameworks
* Ability to lead and influence stakeholders across operations, HR and leadership teams
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear advice and guidance
* Ability to manage competing priorities and support team delivery outcomes
* Experience with Learning Management Systems and training data management
* Ability to interpret training data, monitor compliance and provide reporting insights
* Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and process integrity
* Strong organisational and problem‐solving skills
* Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and implement practical solutions
* Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, Human Resources, Business or related discipline
