Central Desert Regional Council (CDRC) is a local government authority covering an area over 282,000 Sq. kilometres. CDRC builds sustainable communities through traditional local government services such as waste management, road repair and upgrades, and community services (Community Safety, Children's Services; Youth, Sport and Recreation, Aged Care) in 12 communities to the North of Alice Springs: Lajamanu, Ti Tree, Wilora, Nturiya, Pmara Jutunta, Willowra, Laramba, Nyirripi, Yuelamu, Atitjere, Engawala and Yuendumu. The Central Desert area is considered remote and disadvantaged and over 80% of the population is Aboriginal.
The Role:
The Senior Administration Officer provides quality reception, superior customer service and administration duties to ensure the activities of the function are carried out effectively and communicated in accordance with Central Desert Regional Council's strategic and regional plans, policies, procedures and legislation.
CULTURAL AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT REQUIREMENTS
This role works closely with Aboriginal peoples, families, communities and service providers across Central Australia. The position requires respectful engagement, cultural awareness and an understanding of local community contexts. Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.
