ROLE DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Administration & Student Services/Attendance Officer
Tenure: Permanent, commencing January 19, weeks)
Reports to: Principal's Executive Assistant / Administration Manager

The Administration and Student Services/Attendance Officer plays a key role in supporting the smooth operation of the College's administrative and student services functions. As the designated Absentee Officer, this position ensures accurate and timely recording of student attendance and provides high-quality customer service to students, parents, and staff. The role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Irene McCormack Catholic College, located just 25 minutes' drive from Perth city centre, boasts excellent transport links by road and train. The campus is set in wonderful, lush gardens with a large oval and a newly built gymnasium. Further building projects will continue to develop this delightful community.

Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will undertake a variety of administration and student support duties, including, but not limited to:
Absentee Recording
· Manage incoming absentee calls and messages courteously and efficiently.
· Record absences, late arrivals, and early departures accurately in SEQTA.
· Follow up unexplained absences via phone, email, and SEQTA communications in line with College procedures.
· Maintain attendance records in compliance with CEWA and Department of Education requirements.
· Generate attendance reports and escalate concerns to Heads of House, Deputy Principal Community, and Vice Principal as required.
· Support attendance intervention processes.
Student Services & Administration
· Generate correspondence related to the Behaviour Management framework.
· Manage lost property and other items handed in to Student Services.
· File student and parent communications accurately.
· Relief cover for other members of the Administration Team, including the College receptionist and Sickbay Officer, when required.
· Deliver administrative support to the Executive Leadership Team and other staff as directed.
· Perform other duties as directed by the Principal or delegates.
Essential Requirements
· Strong digital competency and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
· Highly organised, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong interpersonal skills and professional approach.
· Ability to use initiative and sound judgment in decision-making.
· Fast and accurate keyboard skills with sound knowledge of database systems.
· Senior First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain within 3 months).
· Commitment to student health, safety, and wellbeing.
· Respectful and inclusive approach to all members of the College community.
· High standards of personal presentation.
· Willingness to support the Christ-centred ethos of the College and participate in College Masses, Catholic rituals, and staff faith formation activities.
· Contribute time and effort to support the life and activities of the College.

· Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School (or willingness to obtain within the required timeframe).
Desirable Skills
· Previous experience in a school administration or student services role.
· Familiarity with SEQTA or similar student information systems.
