Primary Purpose The primary purpose of this role involves managing the day-to-day operations of the construction team, in your relevant state, to ensure client service levels and business KPI’s are being met. The Construction Team consists of Desktop Supervisors, Site Supervisors, Estimators and Project Managers.Key ResponsibilitiesBlueprint Strategy:Contribute to the company Blueprint and strive to achieve it’s objectives.Be proactive in seeking and identifying opportunities for Beacon Building Services.Drive innovation within the construction team across the state.Regularly meet key clients to review opportunities, upcoming tenders and other similar items.Attend industry events during and after-hours, as required, nationally.Contribute to budget and resource planning for the state.Operational PerformanceMonitor team KPI’s utilising system reports and Power BI and ensure compliance is achieved.Ensure causation reports and estimates are consistent, of high quality, and submitted on time.Assist estimators with large tender package submissions as required.Contribute to business unit pricing guidelines to ensure competitiveness.Oversee current work in progress, ensuring projects are allocated to the most appropriate team members, cost targets and milestones are being met, and HSE standards are being adhered to.Ensure project administration, including site diaries and WIP updates, is consistent and concise across all work in progress.Oversee procurement practices and contribute to procurement strategy to ensure cost competitiveness and value for money.Maintain oversight on large, complex and/or high-profile projects to minimise risk to the business and ensure successful completion.Ensure projects meet planning approval obligations, NCC and Australian Standard requirements and/or any other requirements associated with a specific project.Take possession of the after-hours phone as required or on rostered days to arrange and coordinate emergency works for clients.Maintain service levels under times of increased work volume, particularly during major events/storms.Stakeholder ManagementEnsure the team keep clients informed regularly and responses are provided diligently.Ensure consistent, informative and relevant communication with all stakeholders.Work with clients and suppliers to develop and maintain harmonious professional relationships for the benefit of all stakeholders.Connect with new clients and suppliers to continually grow our network.Be an escalation point of contact for all stakeholders and provide assistance in dispute resolution where required.Attend client meetings and projects meetings regularly to build rapport with stakeholders and provide assistance as needed.Promote company values, policies and procedures.Industry KnowledgeMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; benchmarking professional standards; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks.Share industry knowledge that assists in the training and development of less experienced employees. This may include travelling interstate.Typical Qualifications and ExperienceA building related trade background or tertiary qualification in building and construction (or related discipline) is essential.Experience in a similar role is essential.Strong understanding of domestic insurance industry and procedures is an advantage.Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office suite essential with additional experience in a workflow system and Microsoft Project an advantage.Willingness to adapt and be flexible.Ability to lead, plan and manage change.Passion, or the willingness to become immersed in work.Strong time management skills, including the ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict KPI’s.Strong negotiation skills with excellent decision-making skills.A customer focused approach to work.Strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to learn new I.T. systems quickly.
