The Mount Isa Housing Service Centre is seeking a motivated and skilled professional to join our Property team as Property Inspector.
Our region spans from Karumba in the north, Boulia in the south, Hughenden in the east, and extends west to the Northern Territory border.
This position is a versatile role that may be reassigned to different teams as operational needs arise. Currently, the primary focus of this role is to support the Property team in conducting property inspections across the region.
The department provides relevant property inspection training to ensure staff are equipped to meet the requirements of the role.
These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Preparation
* Review property history, previous reports, and tenant agreements.
* Ensure tools and devices (e.g., camera, tablet) are ready for documentation.
* Safety Assessment
* Inspect structural integrity, electrical systems, plumbing, fire safety, and security features.
* Condition and Maintenance
* Check cleanliness, identify damage, inspect outdoor areas, and test appliances and fixtures.
* Tenant Compliance
* Verify adherence to lease agreements and address unauthorised modifications or activities.
* Documentation and Reporting
* Data entry, take photos, upload findings to reporting systems, and prepare detailed inspection reports with recommendations, strong computer skills are mandatory.
* Follow-Up Actions
* Coordinate repairs, communicate with tenants, and schedule re-inspections if needed.
This process ensures properties are safe, well-maintained, and compliant, while supporting effective service delivery and tenant relationships.

Mandatory Requirements

* Strong computer skills, as inspections are completed by utilising electronic devices such as iPhone's.

Additional Information
* These roles require planned travel within the region for 2-4 nights at a time.
* Successful candidates will receive five weeks of annual leave and, after six months of service, will be eligible for Regional and Remote Incentive payments.
