Domestic Violence Specialist Role
This critical position plays a vital part in providing immediate, ongoing support to individuals experiencing domestic violence.
The Victim-Survivor Practitioner role operates alongside the Queensland Police Service and community support agencies to ensure a coordinated, trauma-informed response that is culturally safe.
This role involves crisis intervention and early intervention when co-responding to Domestic and Family Violence incidents with the QPS. You will address client crisis safety needs, providing short-term follow-up and offering DFV risk assessment and safety planning referral.
* Provide intake services for clients at a DFV incident and at short-term follow-up
* Provide crisis interventions and immediate safety planning to support victim-survivors of violence, ensuring children's safety
* Using approved protocols, conduct DFV risk assessments to identify victims of violence and users of violence
