Job Summary:

* This role involves providing specialist child protection services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander families, with a focus on risk assessment and statutory support for children who are reasonably suspected of being in need of protection.

Main Responsibilities:

1. To deliver high-quality, culturally sensitive child protection services that respect the unique needs and circumstances of each family and community.

2. Undertake comprehensive assessments of risk and provide recommendations for intervention strategies to ensure the safety and well-being of children.

3. Develop and maintain effective relationships with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander family support agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote collaboration and cooperation.

4. Participate in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with best practice in child protection and cultural competence.

Requirements:

* Strong understanding of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultures and communities.
