UDL Group is seeking an experienced Gardener to join our Estate Maintenance division working prominently in the western metropolitan catchment of Melbourne, with some site work extending to the Geelong region.
Equipped with a fully maintained company vehicle and all tools of trade, you will lead daily maintenance operations across high‐profile residential estates, ensuring open green spaces, streetscapes, and parks are maintained to an exceptional and visually appealing standard.
This is a practical, field‐based leadership position where your day begins from home and involves travel between multiple maintenance sites. You will coordinate daily work programs, lead and mentor a small crew, and plan ahead to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule. The position offers a high level of autonomy and trust, with the flexibility to follow the maintenance schedule in your own stride, supported by the guidance and mentorship of experienced managers.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and mentor a crew of estate maintenance staff, acting as the primary on‐site contact.
* Assess each site daily to identify priorities and delegate tasks effectively to your team.
* Ensure all team members complete daily pre‐start checks and risk assessments to maintain a safe working environment.
* Support the Maintenance Coordinator and Maintenance Manager by ensuring staff follow correct procedures, complete digital site checklists, and accurately log work hours.
* Operate and maintain a range of equipment including mowers.
* Perform detailed horticultural tasks such as:
* Submit daily service reports and site updates to management.
* Liaise with subcontractors and traffic management personnel as needed.
* Maintain high‐quality control standards to prevent the need for rework.
