What you will be doing: Heavy mechanical works such as gear boxes, clutches and steering systems Structural hull work and piping repairs Plate repairs, deck and hull plates Pump, valve and control systems repairs Performing high-quality welding on Navy vessels: TIG, MIG, Stick and Flux-Cored processes Working across stainless and carbon steels; occasional copper/nickel/steel work Interpreting and working from technical drawings and plans Completing hot works safely and in line with procedures Passing a standard weld test prior to commencement Maintaining PPE and safe work practices at all times Must Haves: Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication Trade) Proven proficiency in TIG, MIG, Stick & Flux-Core welding Strong ability to read technical drawings/plans Demonstrated hot-works competency Your own PPE (including welding shield/helmet) Must be PHYSICALLY FIT, 14 floors of stairs.
