As a fundamental player in supporting the Defence Fuel Network across 100 Australian Defence bases nationwide, UGL plays a vital role. From operations and maintenance to asset management and fuel supply services, our team's expertise ensures effective and sustainable delivery.
This opportunity is to work with us as a full-time Trades Assistant / Work Execution Officer, joining our Operations & Maintenance team at the Darwin RAAF Base in the NT. You will be based at this location, supporting surrounding areas with occasional regional travel. This would be an exciting and unique chance to work in the Australia Defence environment, contributing to national security.
The role involves working with a core crew of UGL technicians on various tasks including scoping mechanical and electrical work activities, procurement of materials, management of maintenance documentation, coordination of contractors, assisting maintenance technicians in field works, and supporting sites in the region.
* Scoping mechanical and electrical work activities
* Procurement of materials and creation of work packs
* Management of maintenance documentation on Computerised Maintenance Management System
* Coordination of contractors including obtaining quotes and documentation
* Assisting maintenance technicians in field works
* Supporting various sites in the region, with occasional requirement to travel to various sites throughout NT
We expect you to have experience in labouring or trade (mechanical), familiarity with SAP-based Computerised Maintenance Management Systems, knowledge of permit to work documentation and risk assessments, safety awareness, and IT literacy. Holding or ability to obtain appropriate Defence Security Clearance is also necessary.

To be successful in this role, you should possess:
* Previous labouring or trade (mechanical) experience
* Experience with SAP-based Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
* Knowledge of permit to work documentation and risk assessments
* Safety awareness and skills
* IT literacy and computer skills
* Ability to obtain or hold Defence Security Clearance
