The Role
We are seeking an experienced Control Systems Subject Matter Expert with mroe than 10 years of industry experience, to support a diverse client base, operating across multiple automation platforms. This role requires a strong balance of practical, hands‐on expertise and theoretical knowledge, with demonstrated experience across design, project management, and commissioning phases of industrial automation projects.
Responsibilities
Pre-Project / Advisory Phase
* Extract and analyse data from existing systems
* Conduct gap analyses of current PLC, metering, and networking infrastructure to identify deficiencies and required upgrades.
* PLC aspects include Modbus (RTU/TCP), OPC‐UA, MQTT, BACnet, as well as core Industrial Ethernet and OT networking concepts.
* Provide technical direction, design review and oversight of PLC
* Support the Solutions Team in developing energy conservation measures, particularly relating to control systems and data acquisition
* Assist with project estimating and time budgeting
* Participate in contract risk assessment and management processes
Project Delivery Phase
* Develop detailed control system designs and compile functional descriptions
* Support contractor selection and assist with contractor management
* Assist Projects and Data teams with commissioning activities and system data acquisition
Post-Project / Operational Support
* Lead continuous commissioning initiatives to maximise project performance and outcomes
* Ensure ongoing data reliability, system uptime, and operational stability at client sites, including fault diagnosis of data gaps and reviewing and validating tagging, naming conventions and sampling strategies.
* Contribute to building robust internal systems and processes to improve overall company performance
Although this role does not sit within the Sales Team, as an SME within the organisation you are expected to actively support and promote the company's interests.
This includes:
* Attending and participating in relevant industry events
* Providing technical support to the Sales Team where required
* Proactively representing and advancing Climatech Zero's interests whenever appropriate
Skills & Experience
* Minimum 10 years' experience in industrial automation and PLC systems
* Strong mix of practical field experience and theoretical engineering knowledge
* Experience in control system design, project management, and commissioning
* Established industry networks and the ability to open and progress opportunities
* Confident communicator with experience leading client discussions and proposals
