About the Business:

Scotsman’s Fish & Chips is a busy takeaway seafood outlet operating seven days a week, offering fish & chips, seafood packs, burgers and takeaway meals. Due to ongoing business growth and operational requirements, we are seeking a full-time Retail Manager (General) to oversee daily store operations and ensure efficient business performance.

This position is genuinely available to Australian citizens and permanent residents, and applications from local candidates are strongly encouraged.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:

* Managing the overall day-to-day operations of the takeaway retail store

* Supervising and coordinating staff, including rostering and performance management

* Ensuring high standards of customer service and resolving customer complaints

* Monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies and maintaining inventory control

* Managing point-of-sale operations, cash handling and daily reconciliation

* Implementing and maintaining workplace health and safety and food safety standards

* Assisting in pricing, promotions and sales strategies to maximise revenue

* Ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations

* Training and mentoring staff to maintain operational efficiency

Skills & Experience Required:

* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a retail or hospitality management role

* Strong leadership and team management skills

* Experience in a fast-paced takeaway or food retail environment preferred

* Sound understanding of inventory control, sales and customer service practices

* Ability to work under pressure and manage busy service periods

* Excellent communication and organisational skills

* Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and public holidays as required

Qualifications:

* Diploma or higher qualification in Business, Retail Management or a related field (preferred but not mandatory); or

* At least 3 years of relevant work experience in retail or hospitality management
