Field Officer Grade 1/2 located in Bucketty. Package includes salary $54,422 to $59,745 plus employer's contribution to superannuation and 17% loading for working weekends and public holidays. Ongoing full‐time role.
About the role
- Assist with a diverse range of activities relating to maintenance and improvement to park assets within NPWS parks and reserves.
- Conduct pest and weed control, routine maintenance, construction and installation of new assets, and conservation works.
- Operate and maintain plant and equipment, participate in fire management activities, respond to visitor enquiries, and assist with compliance activities.
- Work closely with team members, solve and overcome problems, and operate independently with minimal supervision.
- Travel and work in remote locations.

Essential Requirements
- Current Australian Class C driver's licence or equivalent and ability to drive 4‐WD vehicles.
- Ability to obtain and use MR licence where appropriate.
- Demonstrated ability and experience to carry out all duties safely and ability to obtain relevant SafeWork NSW certification to appropriately operate and maintain a range of plant and equipment, including conditionally registered vehicles, watercraft (non‐coxswain), lifting apparatus, and minor road maintenance plant, as well as the willingness to obtain a First Aid certificate.
- Certification, or ability to obtain certification within the probationary period (up to12months), in operating a chainsaw to cross‐cut or basic tree‐felling standard and ability to operate a two‐way radio.
- Ability to carry out frontline firefighting duties and support roles, including the ability to obtain and maintain certification as a crew member within the probationary period (up to12months), and willingness to fly in light aircraft.
- Must meet the requirements of a firefighting medical, including clearance to undertake frontline firefighting roles, pass the task‐based fitness assessment to a moderate level within the probationary period (up to12months) and annually thereafter.
