**The Role**:
Seeking a passionate Communications Officer to be responsible for developing and implementing external and internal communications, strategy plans and tools for the Major Events function, currently comprising of multiple awards ceremonies, and other ministerial events as required.
You will also contributes to the planning, coordination, curation, editing and developing of content for use across channels.

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develops and disseminates high-quality written communication material including media releases, media responses, and case studies and testimonials for promotional purposes
- Provides writing assistance to award programs applicants
- Prepares high quality event briefs, speecches and speaking notes for Minister, Executives and senior management
- Prepares biography and narratives of Awards finalists
- Prepares materials for internal communications optimising channels
- Provides advice and training to Departmental personnel about the most appropriate means for communicating to target audiences
- Supports the development of communications appropriate for the audience and targets of each major event
- Coordinates and prepares copy for e-newsletters and intranet news including editing, sourcing content, design/layout
- Writes effective, grammatically correct, consistent collateral across a range of internal communications channels
- Reviews, assesses and develops marketing materials
- Provides writing and editing support for all promotional materials, website and intranet content
- Actively participates in content planning for the Department's communication channels, including pitching news ideas
