Job Description:

* Key Responsibilities:
* - Lead and manage negotiations of access agreements, under Hunter Valley and Interstate Access Undertaking and direct commercial advice and assessment of viability of new business proposals.
* - Lead the provision of advice to new or existing customers on access pricing.
* - Manage the revenue collection process including ownership and development of supporting business systems, with transactional support from Finance.
* - Manage disputes resolution with customers in relation to revenue invoices and commercial connected disputes.
* - Lead and manage the development of support systems to provide timely and accurate revenue budgeting and revenue performance reporting to support monthly monitoring and quarterly Financial Governance Committee reviews of the business.
* - Assist in managing and developing commercial opportunities, which may include expanding service offering to facilitate modal shift of freight to rail.
* - Manage obligations under Hunter Valley and Interstate Access Undertaking.
* - Direct the development of new and improved business processes and systems focussing particularly on implementation and ongoing management and enhancements of commercial systems.
* - Identify and manage the impact of systems changes within the organisation including canvassing key stakeholders, developing appropriate documentation and providing training to key users.
* - Lead the development of tools for the business units to analyse and report commercial performance.
* - Lead the development of the annual budget and monthly forecast.
* - Direct quality assurance services through the facilitation and co-ordination of the development of new and improved business processes and systems focussing on continuous improvement reviews of regulatory and contractual compliance activities.
* - Manage the identification and implementation of constructive solutions to issues of a commercial, systems or business improvement nature liaising with external resources to ensure conformity with commercial contractual and regulatory requirements.
* - Lead analytical reviews, assess risks and developing alternative scenarios (as required) to ensure conformity with commercial contractual and regulatory requirements.
* - Ensure compliance with Safety Management System (SMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS) requirements, responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities.
* - Manage the commercial compliance and administration of customer contracts, having regard to the regulatory framework.
* - Lead the development of the annual budget and monthly forecast, including reporting on performance.
* - Participate and where appropriate lead commercial negotiations with customers, new and existing.
* - Effective management of commercial relationships with customers under the Hunter Valley Access Undertaking and Interstate Access Undertaking.
* - Ensure compliance with Safety Management System (SMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS) requirements, responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities.
* - Ensure that injuries are properly reported, and that any injured employees are provided both a safe and timely return to work.
* - Ensure that policies and procedures that relate to human resource management and work health safety and welfare are effectively applied in line with Just and Fair Culture.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

* Essential Requirements:
* - Tertiary qualifications in a business related discipline and equivalent experience.
* - Demonstrated experience in developing, negotiating and managing commercial contracts;
* - Demonstrable advanced analytical ability and;
* - Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, together with demonstrated interpersonal skills for communication with external and internal contacts;
* - A demonstrated ability to be disciplined in process implementation and adherence and;
* - Demonstrably innovative and able to achieve targeted outcomes.
