Project Engineering Opportunity
Alfabs Group is a long-established provider of turnkey solutions for complex high-profile projects within the Infrastructure, Mining, Ports & Construction sectors.
Due to our recent growth and expanding project portfolio, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer to join our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide technical support to project managers by taking ownership of both off-site and on-site project technical requirements to ensure compliant and successful project delivery in accordance with specified technical standards.
* Review and interpret client engineering drawings and project specifications to develop required technical deliverables including shop drawings, installation methodologies, and project quality documentation.
* Collaborate with the project manager, construction manager, and project supervisor to develop comprehensive installation documentation that clearly communicates construction requirements to the on-site team.
* Design and document installation methodologies, including fabrication processes, yard assembly procedures, and modular transport logistics, to support efficient and effective project execution.
* Ensure all technical documentation aligns with project quality and compliance requirements and contribute to continuous improvement in project engineering practices.
* Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and team members.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, technical codes, and standards.
* Demonstrate strong organisational skills and manage a range of tasks, often involving irregular hours and both on-site and off-site work.
* Utilise excel, word, outlook, and MS project to manage project documentation and communication.
* Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and regulations, prioritising a safety-minded approach in all aspects of project execution.
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualification - university degree in civil or mechanical engineering, construction management desired
* 5-8 years of experience in a similar role within a comparable-sized organisation
* Proven site-based experience in an industrial environment or heavy industry
* Proven experience in managing construction projects, particularly in the field of site services
* Solid understanding of industry safety requirements and standards
* Excellent written communication skills for preparing documentation and reports
* Highly developed customer service and networking skills
* Current driver's license
* Proficiency with excel, word, outlook, and project
