Schedule: 4 days on‐2 days/2 nights / 4 days off; 12‐hour shifts (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM). Start Date: Open for April intakes. Location: Truganina – Melbourne (Static Site). Vacancies: Multiple positions available; only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
About the Role
As a CBRE Shift Data Center Technician, you will maintain the operational integrity of critical infrastructure by performing preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within a data centre. You will oversee electrical and mechanical systems such as UPS, generators, chillers, electrical distribution, HVAC, BMS, and CMMS Work Dispatching. This position is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function, focusing on delivering technical maintenance services in high‐stakes client environments.
Responsibilities
* Conduct daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering systems and technical equipment, performing servicing and maintenance tasks.
* Ensure safe and efficient environmental conditions at the site.
* Respond to Building Management System alarms and perform emergency repairs.
* Collaborate with third‐party vendors to ensure compliance with company processes, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
* Notify management if subcontractor performance does not meet the requirements outlined in the Master Service Agreement.
* Execute planned preventative maintenance (PM) and reactive maintenance on all equipment.
* Monitor BMS for running and alarm conditions, addressing HVAC‐related client issues.
* Perform building walkthroughs, take meter readings from UPS, PDUs, and utilities.
* Address facility and plant faults and defects with effective solutions.
* Complete assigned work following established processes, procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
* Maintain comprehensive maintenance records through routine quality checks.
* Complete required training to ensure successful job performance.
Qualifications
* Minimum Certificate III in Air‐conditioning & Refrigeration/HVAC‐R and a valid ARC licence.
* White Card (advantage).
* Australian citizenship preferred; PR optional.
* Training in a technical discipline, apprenticeship or equivalent, with 2‐4 years of job‐related experience; experience and education may be considered in lieu of a diploma.
* Ability to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
* Physical ability to meet role requirements.
* Strong communication skills for presenting information internally and to clients.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Strong organisational skills and attentiveness to detail.
* Basic math skills for simple calculations.
* Commitment to delivering results in a fast‐paced environment.
* Hands‐on experience with power tools, electrical work, painting, and related trades.
