Job Description
As a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining Azure cloud infrastructure. This role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing cloud resources in order to ensure maximum uptime and performance.
This is a BAU/Support focused role. On a daily basis you will support the digital ops team, with a focus on Service Delivery and Continuous Improvement within a managed service provider environment particular for Azure Services. You will also be working with cloud providers to manage and configure cloud resources, monitor performance and availability of cloud resources, set up automatic scaling, load balancing, and disaster recovery strategies, and performing system updates and patches.
You will optimize the performance of our systems through team collaboration of hardware and software configurations. Dive deep to resolve problems at their root, looking for failure patterns amenable to long-term solutions. You will work closely with other operations staff, engineering and client services to ensure cloud services are available 24 x 7.

Qualifications
Essential Skills:
- Prior experience in a similar role is required.
- Strong experience in managing Azure infrastructure
- Strong experience with Backups & Recovery, Azure Site recovery, Networking, Firewall & Entra
- Orchestrate patching using Azure Update Manager
- Strong troubleshooting skills in Azure and On-prem environments mainly Windows, Database and Linux platforms
- Powershell, Azure CLI scripting experience
- Significant experience in Customer support
- Ability to work in 24/7 roster based call support environment
Communication and Collaboration/Continuous Learning:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Commitment to staying updated with the latest Azure developments and industry trends.
Valuable to have Skills – Desirable
- Able to develop and manage Azure integrations services such as Logic Apps, Event Hub, Event Grid, Api Management
- Proficient in managing databases, SQL Database preferred
- Experience in managing AKS infrastructure, including troubleshooting and patching
- Linux administration
- Relevant certifications
- Experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments
- Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
- Strong analytical skills to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
