About The Role
This role plays a key part in keeping development processes moving smoothly by reviewing and vetting applications efficiently and accurately, ensuring they meet all legislative and Council requirements. It delivers personable, helpful support to both internal and external customers across phone, written, counter and web chat channels, with a focus on portal and non‐complex development matters. The position also helps drive the timely coordination of referrals, submissions and information requests, contributing to a seamless workflow.
Reporting directly to the Portal & Planning Support Coordinator, the key responsibilities of this role include:
Provide technical and administrative support to achieve the following:Vetting of development and associated applications in an efficient and timely manner for lodgementCompliance with standard operating procedures, Council policies, the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act and Regulations and other associated legislation pertaining to the functions of the Portal & Planning Support TeamAdministrative support to facilitate and monitor the timely management of outgoing and incoming referrals and other submissions and other requests for informationCoordinate and prioritise tasks, correspondence and other functions of the position ensuring work is completed within agreed timeframesRespond to internal and external customer enquiries (received by phone, in writing, counter and web chat) related to portal and noncomplex development the Portal Support Coordinator is informed on a timely basis of any customer experience, compliance or operation/performance concerns associated with the functional responsibilities of this position or the Portal & Planning Support Team

This is a grade range position, therefore in accordance with qualifications, accreditation, experience and demonstrated skills, the prospective employee will be assessed as either Grade 7, 8 or 9.
Grade 7 - $68,489 - $76,980 gross p.a. plus 12% super
Grade 8 - $76,302 - $85,765 gross p.a. plus 12% super
Grade 9 - $82,529 - $96,073 gross p.a. plus 12% super
About You
Based on the grade range of this position, the successful applicant will have:
Grade 7
Certificate III in Business Administration Studies or relevant experienceExperience in delivering customer service excellence within a highly regulated industry or environment/Local Government contextBasic understanding of Council's planning, development and certification processes; Council's policies and the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act and Regulations
Grade 8
Certificate IV in Local Government (Planning) or equivalent substantial experienceMinimum 3 years' experience in delivering customer service excellence in a Planning and Development or related environment/ Local Government contextAn applied understanding of Council's planning, development and certification processes; Council's policies and the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act and Regulations
Grade 9
Completion or progress towards a Tertiary/ Industry recognised qualification in Town Planning/ Urban & Regional Planning or related fieldMinimum 5 years' experience in delivering customer service excellence in a in a Planning and Development or related environment/ Local Government contextAn extensive applied understanding of Council's planning, development and certification processes; Council's policies and the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act and Regulations
