Are you an organised, people‐focused HR professional who loves the operational side of HR and takes pride in getting the detail right?
We're looking for a Human Resources Officer to join our People & Culture team on a full-time, 6‐month fixed term contract, with a strong possibility of permanency for the right person.
This is a hands‐on role where you'll play a critical part in keeping our HR operations running smoothly while supporting a diverse, values‐led organisation that is deeply committed to inclusion and community impact.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the HR Manager, you'll provide high‐quality, end‐to‐end HR administrative and coordination support across the full employee lifecycle. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys day‐to‐day HR delivery, takes ownership of outcomes, and wants to be part of a professional, collaborative HR function. Your work will directly enable compliance, consistency, and a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
* End‐to‐end HR administration across the employee lifecycle
* Preparing employment contracts, variations, letters and confirmations
* Maintaining accurate employee records, HR systems and compliance registers
* Coordinating onboarding, inductions, probation and mandatory training tracking
* Liaising with payroll to ensure accurate and timely people data
* Supporting recruitment administration, interview coordination and onboarding
* Acting as a first point of contact for routine HR queries
* Supporting HR audits, reporting, and continuous process improvement
* Assisting with people, culture and HR projects as required
About You
You're practical, proactive and thrive in an operational HR role where no two days are the same.
You'll Bring:
* Experience in a similar HR Officer / HR Coordinator role
* Working knowledge of Australian employment legislation, NES and Modern Awards
* Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
* Confidence working autonomously while collaborating with leaders and employees
* High levels of discretion, professionalism and integrity
* The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‐paced environment
Highly Regarded:
* Experience in the not‐for‐profit sector
* Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities
* Exposure to HRIS or recruitment systems
* A relevant HR qualification (or currently working towards one)
