About the Role
The Fire Operations Support Officer provides logistical, operational, response and administrative support services to the regional Fire Management program and members of the department's fire brigade within AMLR Region.
The incumbent will also provide support to implement statewide fire management programs and will be required to participate in bushfire response and prescribed burning operations.
Participation in the department's emergency operations including prescribed burn and bushfire suppression activities across the state.
Logistical, operational and administrative support is provided to the seasonal fire crew, Regional Fire Duty Officer, DEW brigade members within the AMLR Region, and prescribed burns and bushfire operations.
Administrative support is provided to the regional Fire Management program including financial services, records management, and fleet records, organisation of meetings, and basic purchasing and maintenance of stock.
WHS support is provided to the regional fire management program by coordinating WHS inspections, monitoring and reporting on the implementation of the WHS action plans and maintaining up to date records to ensure compliance with WHS policies and procedures.

Two Positions available: One ongoing (permanent) position and One Fixed-term position until 29 May ****
Special Conditions
Will be required to participate in responses to state emergencies or associated duties.
You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or provide evidence that you hold a valid working visa that allows you to work in Australia.
A current class "C" driver's licence and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd is essential.
Will be required to participate in firefighting operations and must be physically fit and pass a fitness assessment to a minimum standard of a 'moderate' Fire Fighting Role Classification as per the DEW Fire Policy and Procedures.
May be required to participate in Biosecurity emergency response.
Will be required to work outside of the normal hours of work including weekends, public holidays and days of significant fire danger, and participate on a roster system for duties associated with emergency response including on call and standby arrangements.
Will be required to undertake intra or interstate travel which may require the incumbent to be away from home for extended periods.
Prior to being employed, the successful applicant will be required to obtain a National Police Check.
Wearing a company uniform during working hours and/or when representing the department is mandatory.
Remuneration
OPS2 $58,709 min – $63,154 max p.a.
