We are seeking a passionate and skilled Individual Support and Community Services Trainer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and facilitating training programs designed to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to work within the industry.
You will work with both new and experienced staff, delivering training in a way that aligns with best practices and industry standards for client-centred care, social inclusion, and support for people with disabilities, elderly clients, or other vulnerable populations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop Training Programs: Create engaging sessions supported by a session plan.
* Facilitate Training: Conduct both in-person and virtual training sessions to teach employees best practices in client care, communication, and support.
* Assessment: Evaluate the skills and knowledge of students in alignment with industry skills, knowledge and benchmarks.
* RPL - Assess students that can demonstrate current skills applicable to their role and in alignment with the qualification requirements.
* Ensure Compliance: Stay current with industry regulations and ensure that all training programs comply with relevant legislation and standards.
* Provide Support and Guidance: Offer one-on-one or group coaching and mentoring to students to help them apply learned skills in real-life scenarios.
* Measure Effectiveness: Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback and make adjustments as needed.
* Document Training: Maintain accurate records of all training sessions, attendance, and evaluations for reporting and compliance purposes.
* Collaboration: Work closely with other trainers and management.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Experience in Individual Support: At least 3 years of experience in a role related to individual support or care.
* Experience in Community - At least 3 years of experience in a role related to working within a community service role.
* Training and Facilitation Skills: Proven ability to design and deliver effective training programs, with experience in adult learning principles and various delivery methods (e.g., classroom, online, workshops).
* Knowledge of Relevant Industry Legislation and Standards: Familiarity with care regulations and standards relevant to the industry, such as disability care, aged care, or health and safety protocols.
* Knowledge of 2025 Standards: Familiarity with the updated 2025 Compliance Standards for RTOs.
* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey information and engage diverse audiences.
* Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with students and clients and offer constructive feedback.
* Problem-Solving Ability: Able to assess situations, identify problems, and propose practical solutions in a fast-paced environment.
* Certifications: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Certificate III or higher in Individual Support and CommunityServices.
* Training Qualification Requirement: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment can be obtained within 6 months of commencement if not held at time of application.
