About The Opportunity
Arcadia is seeking a visionary Senior Urban Designer to translate complex spatial and environmental data into cohesive masterplans that enrich the public realm across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. In this pivotal role, you will champion design excellence and lead multidisciplinary collaboration to deliver high‐impact projects that deeply connect community and Country.
A glimpse into your day
* Manage all phases of urban design projects, ensuring high‐quality delivery remains within budget and on schedule.
* Lead the creation of sophisticated masterplans and frameworks that enhance the public realm through a design‐led spirit.
* Collaborate across diverse disciplines to foster a culture of design excellence and innovation.
* Mentor and develop team members, promoting a supportive and collaborative studio environment.
* Drive business development by building strong client relationships and identifying new growth opportunities.
* Represent Arcadia at industry events, presenting our unique approach to maintain a high‐reputation culture.
* Prioritise safety and environmental stewardship by implementing proactive protocols across all studio and site operations.
The expertise you'll bring
* A Bachelor's degree in a built environment discipline, such as Urban Design, Architecture, or Landscape Architecture.
* 5+ years of professional experience specifically within the Urban Design sector.
* Advanced proficiency in 3D and design software, including Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, and the Adobe Creative Suite.
* In‐depth knowledge of Australian built‐form codes and regulations, including SEPP65 and the Apartment Design Guide (ADG).
* A strong understanding of the Australian urban planning process and contemporary design outcomes.
* Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex design concepts through written and oral presentations.
* A commitment to continuous improvement and a stay‐curious mindset that aligns with our core values.
