Purpose of Role:
The Comminution Technician is responsible to carry out repairs and maintenance on Weir HPGR, screens and cone crusher equipment on customer sites and the workshop as both a fitter and a hands-on site service technician in addition to managing clients within the APAC region to establish and implement a sustainable growth of the allocated Comminution business unit.

This position will be working with the Senior HPGR/Comminution supervisor and Service management on various business objectives including but not limited to onsite safety, onsite maintenance, process improvement, lean principles and special projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

- Collaborate with the HPGR team across site, Perth, and Port Hedland facilities, while managing APAC regional clients to drive sustainable growth for the HPGR business unit.

- Deliver on-site service and customer support, ensuring maintenance, repairs, fault diagnosis, and testing are completed as per defined scopes of work.

- Identify and recommend equipment improvements to the Service Manager to help reduce customers’ total cost of ownership (TCO).

- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, addressing concerns and ensuring service expectations are consistently met.

- Provide technical guidance to the Site Service Supervisor on service and component requirements for contracts, and support preventative maintenance to minimise plant downtime.

- Coordinate with Area Managers to ensure timely and cost-effective installation and commissioning activities, while demonstrating flexibility and a collaborative, customer-focused approach.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

- A minimum of 3–4 years relevant technical/trade experience (Minimum Cert III in Mechanical Engineering)

- Experience working on heavy specialized equipment such as high-pressure grinding rolls, hydraulic and rotating equipment, highly preferred.

- Hydraulic knowledge is desirable.

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

- Be available for a combination of workshop and field work

- Intermediate to advanced MS Office (Excel and Word), Email
