About the Role:
MMT Recruitment is working in collaboration with our client, a well-established not-for-profit disability service provider in South West Sydney, to find an experienced Psychologist. In this role, you'll provide psychological and behaviour support services to school-aged children, young people and adults with disabilities, their families and carers. Working within a person-centred approach, you'll conduct assessments, develop intervention programs, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions under the NDIS framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse caseload of people with disabilities presenting with complex needs and challenging behaviours
- Conduct psychometric and psychological assessments to determine functioning levels, strengths and areas of need
- Develop, implement, monitor and review individualised intervention programs aligned with NDIS goals
- Provide behaviour support services in line with best practice guidelines and the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Framework
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including support coordinators, disability support workers and families
- Contribute to the planning, development and evaluation of allied health service operations
Skills and Qualifications:
- Recognised Degree in Psychology with full or Provisional registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA
- Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain prior to employment)
- Current NSW Driver's Licence
- Current NSW Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain prior to employment)
Experience:
- Demonstrated experience working with people with disabilities with complex needs, including dual diagnosis
- Experience with specialised and complex intervention strategies
- Proven experience working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and in partnership with other services
- Current understanding of issues, trends and approaches in disability service provision
- Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
- Strong conceptual, problem-solving and analytical skills with ability to interpret clinical data
