About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support and enhance enterprise infrastructure environments across VMware, Microsoft Server, Backup technologies and modern endpoint management platforms. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys working across BAU operations and project-based work, ensuring systems are secure, resilient, and performing at their best.
You'll work with modern infrastructure platforms, contribute to technical improvements, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver reliable IT services. This role suits a technically strong engineer who enjoys automation, system optimisation, and working across both BAU and project delivery
Key Responsibilities
* Support and manage VMware vSphere environments (ESXi, vCenter, HA/DRS).
* Administer Windows Server platforms and core Microsoft services (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO).
* Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate administration, reporting, and remediation tasks.
* Support SCCM (Configuration Manager) for patching, software deployment, and endpoint management.
* Administer Microsoft Intune for modern device management, compliance policies, and application delivery.
* Manage and monitor enterprise backup solutions (Veeam, Cohesity, Commvault or similar), including restores and DR testing.
* Perform system patching, upgrades, and security hardening across servers and endpoints.
* Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and endpoint-related incidents.
* Participate in infrastructure and endpoint modernisation projects.
* Maintain clear documentation and operational procedures.
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience as a Systems Engineer / Infrastructure Engineer.
* Strong hands-on skills with VMware and Microsoft Server technologies.
* Solid PowerShell scripting capability.
* Experience supporting SCCM and/or Microsoft Intune environments.
* Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
* Experience with backup and disaster recovery technologies.
Desirable (but not essential)
* VMware or Microsoft certifications.
* Exposure to Azure or hybrid environments.
* PowerShell scripting or automation experience.
* Experience in MSP or enterprise environments.
* Exposure to security baselines, conditional access, and device compliance.
