BEC Engineering is a well-established Electrical, Power and Control Systems Engineering Services consultancy located in Burswood. With nearly 30 years in the industry, we provide electrical engineering consultancy for mining, materials handling, utilities and infrastructure projects.
About the Role:
The role will form part of the core Power Systems engineering group and is focused on providing detailed electrical engineering design for high voltage networks. Scope of work will include detailed design for high voltage networks, power line design, substation design, protection systems, power system studies and HV submissions. The application of Power System consulting will focus on upgrades and expansions to mine site, mineral processing and material handling facilities. While many of our projects are mining sector related, an increasing number of projects involve up-grade of infrastructure (ports and transportation) and utility (water and power) facilities. Project scale can vary from smaller studies to design of an entire HV network.
About you
Tertiary qualifications in Power System engineering from a recognised institution are essential. Post graduate qualifications would be a plus. With between 3–10 years experience post graduation, you will have substantial experience in an electrical engineering consulting environment. Project design experience ideally in minerals processing applications, power generation, power distribution/transmission or the utility sector. Consulting experience could be combined with field/site experience with an EPCM or an operator. Experience should have been gained in a mining or mineral processing sectors with reputable organisations. Excellent communication skills and capacity to work with clients, vendors and colleagues is essential. This will be combined with a solid customer service mentality. Depending on experience, it is expected that you will have the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and also as part of a multidisciplinary team. More experienced Engineers will be expected to have substantial project management experience and the capacity to lead a small team or deliver projects within time and budget parameters.
