Inorail are the National distributor for Inoxihp Mining Pumps, and SMTScharf rail bound transport/ handling systems specialising in supply and maintenance of longwall pump systems and monorails into the underground coal mining sector.

We are seeking a highly motivatedPurchasing Officer to work collaboratively with our Engineering and Production team in Beresfield NSW.

THE POSITION

As a Purchasing Officer at Inorail, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain. Your responsibilities will include:

Identify, evaluate and onboard suppliers that align with Inorail's quality and cost standards.

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential suppliers.

Source, negotiate, and procure materials, equipment, and services in line with project requirements.

Exercise high levels of strategic procurement knowledge, expertise and experience.

Monitor market trends and conduct regular market analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Develop and implement long-term strategies offering cost effective solutions to ensure continuity of supply and service.

Apply high level risk management techniques to effectively manage and minimise procurement and contractual risk.

Expedite current orders and long lead items, update ERP system with revised delivery dates.

Attend weekly production meetings reporting on delivery status of critical items.

Liaise with engineering to assist with preparation of material requisitions.

Review and refine purchasing & procurement procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Implement efficient inventory management practices to optimize stock levels and reduce lead times.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to forecast demand and plan inventory accordingly.

REQUIREMENTS

CIPS accreditation highly regarded.

Technical / trade background preferred.

Proven high level of experience as a Purchasing Officer or in a similar role within the mining and manufacturing industry.

Strong negotiation and communication skills (Fluent spoken English)

Excellent Commercial, analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Familiarity with procurement software and tools.
