In this role, you’ll be the trusted risk partner supporting our Financial Markets business, helping leaders make confident decisions while strengthening our operational risk culture. You’ll provide meaningful 2nd Line oversight, using your expertise to spot issues early, guide stakeholders, and ensure our risk approach is practical, consistent and aligned to bank‑wide frameworks. Working in the Financial Markets Operational Risk team, you’ll play a key role in uplifting risk maturity, supporting major programs, improving how we manage controls, and bringing clarity to complex risk matters. You’ll also build strong relationships across WIB Risk, Financial Markets, and other specialist teams to influence positive outcomes. This is a permanent role based in Sydney, offering the chance to make a real impact in a high‑profile part of the bank leaning into your proven expertise in 2nd Line Risk. What do I need? You’ll bring a solid understanding of risk management and a collaborative, solutions‑focused mindset. You’ll be comfortable working independently, navigating complexity and engaging senior stakeholders with confidence. You’ll have: Proven 2nd Line risk expertise within an Investment Banking / Financial Markets environment. Strong experience in operational risk, compliance or risk advisory, ideally in Financial Markets. The ability to analyse and simplify complex data, themes and controls. Confidence influencing, negotiating and building relationships across diverse teams. Strong written communication skills, especially when turning insights into clear reporting. The ability to juggle competing priorities while maintaining high‑quality outcomes. Why join us?
