Pipe Fitters (Mechanical) | Boilermakers | Plumbers - Water Treatment Plant | $56.11/hr + Super + Penalties + Allowances | Ongoing Work
Workfast is currently seeking a qualified trades with mechanical experience to join our team working on a major Water Treatment Plant project. This is a fantastic opportunity for skilled tradespeople with water infrastructure experience to secure ongoing work on Sydney Water sites.
What's On Offer:
* $56.11 per hour + super
* $1.91/h project allowance
* Consistent 40-hour weeks with occasional overtime
* Overtime penalties and above industry-standard allowances
* Long-term, ongoing role with the goal & opportunity for FT employment
* Work on major infrastructure projects across Sydney Water sites
Requirements:
* Minimum 2 years of experience in your trade with mechanical background, ideally in water treatment or similar utility / industrial environments
* Australian Recognised Trade Certificate in relevant discipline
* White Card (Construction Induction Card) - mandatory
* Valid Australian work rights (citizen, permanent resident, or unrestricted work rights)
* Strong understanding and commitment to site safety protocols
* Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
* Able to follow instructions and work autonomously where required
* Reliability and work ethic
* Local to Wollongong area or willing / able to travel to site
Desirable but not essential additional:
* Excavator Operator ticket
* Rigger / Dogman tickets
* EWP tickets
* Confined Space, Working at Heights, or other relevant tickets
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform mechanical maintenance on water treatment equipment and plant machinery
* Maintain and repair pipes, valves, conveyors, and pumps
* Assist with general labouring tasks around the plant as needed
* Support daily operations to ensure smooth functionality of the treatment plant
* Participate in site toolbox talks and maintain strong safety practices
