ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Senior Officer, Digital Content, the Communications Officer (Content Design) supports a user-centred approach to content design by analysing behaviour, developing content for digital services and working with stakeholders to improve customer experiences.
You will be responsible for:
• Co-designing, writing, editing and publishing content on our digital channels.
• Using analytics, feedback and evidence to ensure our digital content complies with best practice, including accessibility and readability.
• Working with the team to update digital content where analytics and/or customer feedback reveals poor readability, comprehension, or findability.
• Educating colleagues and stakeholders on content design principles and practices in line with AMSA's digital strategy.
• Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and customers to support and advise on content design practices and ensure best practice digital service delivery.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in this position, you will have the following skills and experience:
• Demonstrated experience in publishing digital content using web content management systems, especially Drupal and SharePoint.
• Experience in developing accessible, user centred content for digital products and services, including information architecture design.
• Experience in working with stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements.
• Experience in using analytics tools to gather, interpret and analyse data, such as customer feedback and digital interaction patterns to continually improve the user experience.
• Ability to develop evidence-based insight reports and recommendations for change.
• Ability to support user interface design for key customer digital touchpoints.
• Ability to articulate and apply the Digital Service Standard and WCAG 2.0/2.1 AA.
• Experience in using Qualtrics, Microsoft Clarity, Google Analytics and / or Hemingway.
• Tertiary qualifications in a field such as human centred design, content writing, digital content management or commensurate experience in these fields.
