About The Role
The Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drug (MHAOD) Branch of the Justice Health and Wellbeing Service delivers mental health and alcohol and other drug healthcare to some of the most vulnerable and high-risk individuals in the State. The MHAOD staff work to improve MHAOD patient outcomes and reduce associated harm and risks as far as possible.
MHAOD services are delivered by multidisciplinary teams made up of highly specialized staff including nurses, consultant psychiatrists, and Aboriginal mental health workers
The role of Nurse Navigator – MHAOD Criminal Law (Mental Impairment) - CLMI is intended to transcend access multiple specialities, support nurse-led integrated service models and augment existing models of care across the DOJ and Integrated Health Service reform. The NN monitors and informs the delivery of mental health and alcohol and other drugs CLMI related interventions, supports and completes high quality clinical reports for Tribunal process, provides the interface between MHAOD, Primary Health and Custodial staff and interagency stakeholders.
Eligibility
Permanent positions – To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.
Qualifications – Successful Applicants Must Have
* Current registration in the category of Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA)
* Relevant post graduate qualification in mental health, alcohol and other drugs and/or extensive clinical experience in and mental health and drug dependencies.

Pool Recruitment
This pool will be open for a period of 12 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent, and/or fixed term full time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.
