Your Team: The Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) team is accountable for the development, implementation, and ongoing leadership of the group's financial crime compliance services. FCC leads the Group's approach to managing AML / CTF, Sanctions and Anti-Bribery and Corruption risks and obligations through the provision of the following services: Policy and frameworks Regulatory engagement Advice and assurance Complex escalations Impact and Role Contribution: This role within the Line 2 Financial Crime Compliance Sanctions team is to support and provide guidance to the Sanctions Advisory team on matters relating to sanctions regulation, policy, and compliance, enabling them to build best in class frameworks, controls and reporting to manage financial crime sanctions risk. You will be required to forge strong relationships with business, operations, technology, and other compliance stakeholders. On any given day, you will Assist in the development and uplift of financial crime processes, systems, and controls specifically within Financial Crime Compliance Sanctions. Assist with uplifts required to the sanctions compliance framework in response to regulatory developments. Support internal stakeholders across the Group to proactively identify, manage, and mitigate the sanctions risks of the business Monitor and identify key issues (and potential issues) in the Sanctions landscape including political developments, trade and commodity issues, human rights, and high profile targets such as oligarchs, rulers, military etc. Provide advice to Financial Crime Operations (FCO) and the Business Units (BUs) with respect to Sanctions matches and applicable Sanctions laws and regulations, in consultation with Legal (as required). Prompt escalation of sanctions related matters to the relevant FCC personnel as necessary Monitor and identify key issues (and potential issues) in the sanctions landscape Work collaboratively with other FCC teams, compliance staff at ASB, Line 1 and various business units across the Group. Throughout these complex circumstances, you will need to maintain strong collaborative relationships. Strong critical thinking skills and ability to apply sound judgement to risk-based assessments and decision. Understanding of payment and/or customer screening, SWIFT and ISO is highly valued. Solid experience in sanctions in a complex organisation across multiple businesses or countries is highly valued Sound understanding of sanctions obligations within the Banking and Financial Services industry In addition to sanctions experience, we are open to hearing from individuals with strong credentials/experience in Legal and or payments technology.
