Lead Healthcare Executive
This is a pivotal opportunity for an accomplished healthcare leader to drive high-performance outcomes in a rapidly evolving health service. The role involves leading a complex clinical portfolio, encompassing emergency, rural, medicine and older persons services, specialty medicine and chronic disease management services, and medical imaging.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership: Provide strategic leadership to a large and complex clinical portfolio, ensuring effective execution of organisational initiatives and optimal performance across multidisciplinary teams.
2. Operational Improvement: Implement strategic plans to optimise patient flow, emergency department operations, general medicine and inpatient medical beds, bed capacity planning, utilisation and patient flow improvement.
3. Cultural Alignment: Foster a culture of excellence, promoting collaboration, innovation, and cultural uplift within the organisation.
4. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans that balance immediate operational priorities with long-term service planning and system growth.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will require a rare combination of operational rigour, clinical insight, and transformational leadership. A proven track record of driving performance uplift, operational efficiency, and cultural alignment in large-scale health services or divisions is essential.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Demonstrated Success: Proven success in leading clinical or operational services within a large, complex healthcare system.
* Operational Expertise: Experience improving ED access, patient flow, and bed utilisation, ideally in a multi-site or regional health service.
* Financial Acumen: Strong financial skills with the ability to manage and optimise similar-sized budgets and workforces.
* Strategic Mindset: Ability to balance immediate operational priorities with long-term service planning and system growth.
* Communication Skills: Advanced communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to unite clinicians, executives, and partners around shared goals.
* Innovation: Track record in innovation, change management, and cultural uplift, underpinned by a commitment to patient-centred, values-based care.
* Qualification: Relevant tertiary qualification in medicine, business, management or health administration highly regarded.
