Cater Care is seeking expressions of interest for a Catering Assistant / Cold Larder Cook to join our team in Alphington, commencing in July 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic food service professional who enjoys preparing fresh meals, creating quality cold larder items, and working as part of a supportive kitchen team.
As a Catering Assistant / Cold Larder Cook, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality food service within a busy kitchen environment. You'll assist with food preparation, meal service, and the production of fresh cold larder items while maintaining exceptional food safety and hygiene standards.
Position Details
* Location: Alphington, VIC
* Start Date: July 2026
* Job Type: Part‐Time
* Hours: 30 hours per week
* Roster: Monday to Friday, 1:30pm – 8:00pm
* Pay Rate: $25.85 per hour + Super

Key Responsibilities
* Assist with daily food preparation and meal service
* Prepare and assemble salads, sandwiches, wraps, and other cold larder items
* Support catering requirements for functions, meetings, and special events
* Provide friendly and professional customer service
* Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dining, and food preparation areas
* Wash dishes and support general kitchen operations
* Follow food safety, allergen management, and hygiene procedures at all times
Desired Skills and Experience
* Previous experience in food preparation, cold larder work, kitchen assistance, or customer service
* Experience working in high-volume catering or commercial kitchen environments (highly regarded)
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A positive attitude and willingness to learn
* High standards of personal presentation and hygiene
* The ability to remain organised and efficient during busy service periods
* Reliability and a strong work ethic
