Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a motivated Casual Trainee Technician to join their team in Townsville. This is an exciting prospect for someone eager to build a long-term career in a hands‑on, fast‑paced industry.
About the Role
As a Trainee Restoration Technician, you’ll work alongside experienced and accredited professionals, assisting with a variety of property restoration projects. This is a minimum 35‑hour‑per‑week role, offering structured on‑the‑job training, the opportunity to complete IICRC certification, and the potential to transition into a full‑time position for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with restoration works including water extraction, structural drying, cleaning, and mould remediation
- Support with light demolition tasks such as removing plasterboard, skirting, vinyl, carpet, and underlay
- Help with contents inventory, packing, and relocation
- Learn to operate industry‑specific equipment and moisture detection tools
- Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, builders, and insurers
- Record project progress, including photos and job notes, using mobile or tablet apps

- Current Driver’s Licence (manual preferred)
- Construction White Card â desirable but not essential
