The Parks and Gardens Labourer supports the delivery of Council's operational and strategic objectives by undertaking general labouring duties across Flinders Shire. While primarily working within the Parks and Gardens team, the role also contributes to tasks across other Engineering Services teams as required.
Award: The position is classified as a Level 2 under the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream B) Award – State 2017
Salary Range: $67,829 gross per annum depending on skills, experience, and qualifications.
ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will have:
Essential Knowledge, skills and abilities
* Demonstrated experience in general labouring and ability to deliver timely and effective operational works.
* Current national general construction induction (white) card
* Competent in operating plant/fleet with a record of safe operations and currency of licences/tickets.
* Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service to both internal and external clients.
* Ability to work within a team, share knowledge and experience and meet deadlines.
* Sound knowledge of completing accurate paperwork such as timesheets and pre starts, or ability and reasonable written/verbal skills to follow directions.
* Where required, stay in camp accommodation away from town.
* Commitment to uphold Council's Code of Conduct, Workplace Health and Safety and Anti-Discrimination policies.
Current C Class drivers' licence with good driving history and willingness to provide driving history if/when required.
Other Requirements
* This position operates from Council's Choose an item. in Hughenden, however, may be required to travel within the Local Government Area and work outside of standard business hours to meet the requirements of the role.
* Travel (including outside of normal hours) to attend training may be required
* The incumbent must be:
* prepared to work flexible hours to meet the requirements of the position;
* willing to obtain a 'Suitability Card' to enable the incumbent to work with or supervise people less than eighteen (18) years of age if required;
* medically fit and physically capable to meet requirements of the position;
* Prepared, if required, to undertake a medical assessment by Council's medical practitioner; and
* Prepared, if required, for Council to undertake a Criminal History Check
