Contract Site Foreman – Heavy Refurbishment Project (Wollongong) Start: First Week of July | Duration: 6 Months | Tier 1/2 Builder
We are seeking an experienced Contract Site Foreman to join a leading Tier 1 construction company delivering a major heavy refurbishment project in Wollongong, NSW. This is a fixed-term contract role commencing in the first week of July, running for approximately 6 months, with strong potential for extension depending on project phase.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a Foreman who thrives in complex refurbishment environments, managing multiple trades, tight sequencing, and live-site constraints.
About the Role You will be responsible for day-to-day site supervision of a heavy refurbishment package within a large-scale commercial/industrial project. The role requires strong coordination skills, attention to detail, and the ability to drive programme outcomes in a fast-moving construction environment.
You will work closely with the Site Manager and Project Manager to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of works.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate all on-site subcontractors and trades
* Drive daily site activities in line with the construction programme
* Ensure strict compliance with WHS policies and procedures
* Manage sequencing of works in a live refurbishment environment
* Maintain quality control across all stages of construction
* Conduct toolbox talks, inductions, and daily site coordination meetings
* Resolve on-site issues quickly to minimise delays
* Liaise with Project Management and Engineers to maintain progress
About You
* Proven experience as a Site Foreman or Contract Foreman on refurbishment or complex build projects
* Background working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 builders strongly preferred
* Strong understanding of construction sequencing, particularly in refurbishment environments
* Confident managing multiple subcontractors and competing priorities
* Solid WHS knowledge and commitment to site safety leadership
* Strong communication and leadership skills
* Ability to deliver under pressure in live or constrained sites
