Leidos Australia delivers IT and airborne solutions that protect and advance the Australian way of life. The company is seeking a Joint Fires Test Support Technician to join a crucial team that supports the testing and integration of Variable Message Format (VMF) systems across ADF platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, conduct, analyse, and report on VMF testing of ADF systems and platforms.
- Assist in the evaluation and validation of a wide range of ADF VMF-enabled systems.
- Set up and configure RF and IP-based systems for system-level and interoperability testing.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure test objectives align with operational requirements.
- Maintain detailed documentation and contribute to the development of testing procedures and technical reports.
What You'll Bring To Make An Impact
- ADF Fires Systems Experience: familiarity with configuration, operation, and TTPs of systems such as AFATDS, APASS, ATAK, DFCS, and DFSTS.
- Tactical Radio Knowledge: hands-on experience with Harris radios (AN/PRC-152A, 117G, 150, 158, 160) and associated configuration tools.
- VMF Standards Proficiency: understanding of VMF protocols, including Header and Data Link Protocols, and their role in Joint Fires data distribution.
- Technical Testing Skills: background in test and evaluation of military systems, including RF/IP setups and system interoperability.
- Additional Technical Competencies: desirable skills include crypto keying (SKL), Harris CPA, Microsoft Visio, and a strong willingness to learn and grow in technical domains.
