DroneShield is a leading company in the field of electronic warfare, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in expanding our production capacity and enhancing capabilities to meet growing demand.
This is a hands-on position where you will work directly on the production floor to solve problems, drive continuous improvement, and enable our technicians to build world-class technology.
We are looking for an experienced manufacturing engineer with a proven track record in implementing and optimizing manufacturing processes. You will work closely with our Production team to refine and optimize production processes, work instructions, and assembly methods.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent) and experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role.
You will be responsible for overseeing production line layout, identifying and addressing bottlenecks to maximize workflow and throughput. You will also maintain and refine existing jigs, rigs, tools, and testing equipment and collaborate with NPI on the development of new tooling as required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Refine and optimize production processes, work instructions, and assembly methods
* Oversee production line layout and address bottlenecks
* Maintain and refine existing jigs, rigs, tools, and testing equipment
* S support pilot builds and manufacturing documentation
* Provide rapid engineering support to production technicians
* Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions
* Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and other continuous improvement initiatives
* Train and mentor production staff in new tools, processes, and assembly techniques
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent)
* Proven experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role
* Experience in utilizing Lean manufacturing principles and Continuous Improvements
* Strong understanding of assembly processes and production testing equipment
* Proficiency with CAD software and 3D printing (e.g., SolidWorks) for jig and fixture design
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
