This Human Resources Generalist role is a part of a global team of HR professionals within the Resource Industries Operations and Product Division (RIOP). The position supports the Australia RIOP team members which includes the Hard Rock Vehicle (HRV) organisation at their Burnie Tasmania location. The HRV organisation is a part of Caterpillar Australia.
Responsibilities
* Manage employee needs to help the business achieve key priorities
* Build a diverse and inclusive workforce through communications, education, and talent acquisition strategies using data analytics to drive positive change and visibility to progress
* Partner on projects related to culture, employee engagement, talent pipeline, organizational design, and other key focus areas
* Provide tailored direction regarding interpretation and application of employee-related policies and practices, as well local and governmental regulations
* Build relationships and contribute to others' success through coaching, counselling and mentoring leaders and employees, including supporting teams in managing performance
* Collaborate with other Australian HR professionals and enterprise process owners to understand and improve local policies and processes
* Resolve employee relations incidents or conflicts as needed
* Positively impacting the future of Caterpillar by assisting with hiring, onboarding (including new employee orientation), training, early talent projects and safety-related initiatives
Qualifications
* University degree or equivalent experience in a related field
* Prior working experience in human resources function
* Must be proficient in the full MS Office suite
Skills and attributes
* Labour law and regulations governing the Human Resources function
* Sound understanding of human resources policies, practices, and procedures
* Effective communicator with the ability to work across all levels of the organisation
* Experience with Workday, Teams and SharePoint is desired or other similar people management systems
The role is based in Burnie. This is a temporary parental leave backfill position for 12 months, with 5 days per week on site.
