You'll lead USU's combined product, service desk, and software development functions, and work closely with University ICT to ensure seamless, secure and future-ready systems.
Your decisions have impact every day - driving transformation across systems used by thousands of students and staff.
What You'll Be Doing
* Own digital product vision and roadmaps across platforms used by students and staff
* Champion user-centric design and adoption through discovery, prioritisation and continuous improvement
* Oversee service delivery, incidents, problem management and SLAs in partnership with University ICT
* Lead application and cloud operations, cybersecurity, identity, and disaster recovery planning
* Manage software delivery using modern DevOps and SDLC practices
* Rationalise systems and vendors to drive efficiency, security and cost effectiveness
* Translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
* Lead and mentor a small team including software and product specialists
* Influence organisational strategy through data, risk and technology insight
This is a role for someone who enjoys balancing strategy with delivery - who can zoom out to set direction, while also rolling up their sleeves to make things happen.
What You Bring
* 8+ years across product management, IT service management and software delivery, including 3+ years people leadership
* Experience in Agile/ITIL & cloud platforms
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement across technical and non-technical audiences
* A continuous improvement mindset and a solutions-focused approach
* Confidence navigating systems, vendors, digital tools and governance frameworks
Bonus Points For
* Postgraduate qualifications
* Exposure to cybersecurity frameworks, SaaS, procurement or vendor management
* Understanding of university environments or not-for-profit organisations
* Familiarity with C#, SQL, or web/cms administration

The USU (University of Sydney Union) is proudly Australia's oldest and largest not-for-profit student organisation, dedicated to providing students with the best possible university experience.
Led by a student board elected by our members, the USU provides fun things on campus, such as festivals, events and parties.
