About Us
Snapdragon Speech is a thriving, family-centred speech pathology practice based in Ballarat. Since opening in December 2021, we’ve been all about supporting kids aged 0–12 and their families in ways that feel genuinely kind, respectful, and neurodiversity-affirming.
Led by our neurodivergent director, Sam, we’re passionate about creating a practice that’s inclusive, flexible, and empowering—not just for the families we support, but for our team too. We believe in working smarter (not harder), showing up with heart, and making space for all the little wins along the way.
About the Role
We're on the lookout for a speechie who shares our values of warmth, flexibility, and empathy—someone who cares about connection just as much as clinical skills.
In this role, you'll:
Deliver evidence-based assessments and therapy to our paediatric clients
Work collaboratively with families, educators, and other professionals
Help shape and support ongoing service development
Enjoy a mix of clinic-based work (most of the time) with some regular kinder/school visits around Ballarat
We’ll support you to structure your days in a way that suits your rhythm. Got a morning gym class or need time to do school pickup? We get it.
Who You Are
You might be an early-career or experienced speechie—we’re open to both. More than anything, you’re someone who:
Holds a recognised degree in Speech Pathology and is eligible for SPA membership
Has (or is willing to get) WWCC, Police Check, PI Insurance and a driver’s licence
Is interested in (or experienced with) neurodiversity-affirming practice, AAC, speech and language disorders, early intervention and family dynamics
Brings warmth, initiative, and a love for learning
Can communicate clearly and manage your time with care
Enjoys working as part of a supportive team (and maybe even a good laugh at our team days!)
What We Offer
We want our team to feel supported, valued, and like they actually enjoy coming to work. Here’s what you can expect:
Above award wages + super + incentive bonuses, and travel allowance for any mobile visits
Part-time or full-time hours – your choice
Generous PD budget, as well as in-house and external supervision
The usual leave entitlements, plus those 3 days study leave and we'll give you 5 days of wellbeing leave to give you even more balance and breathing room (pro rata).
Dedicated planning/note time every day and admin support
Allied Health Assistant support (yes, we love a laminated visual!)
Realistic KPIs and supportive onboarding
Team days, social catch-ups & flexible work-life balance
SPA membership and insurance reimbursed
All the tools you need to do your best work – including a work laptop, iPad, phone, assessments and therapy resources. If there’s something you need and we don’t have it? We’re happy to invest in the right tools to support you and your clients.
