Key Responsibilities
HR Compliance (Core Responsibility)
This is the primary and most critical function of the role.
1. Employment Law Compliance & Policy Implementation
Ensure all employment practices — including recruitment, onboarding, working hours, overtime, payroll, leave management, and termination — fully comply with the Fair Work Act ****, relevant Awards (e.g., warehousing, transport), and applicable VIC legislation.
Monitor regulatory updates and support timely updates to internal HR policies, procedures, and workflows.
2. Compliance Audits & Risk Management
Assist with internal and external audits, investigations, compliance reviews, and maintain accurate documentation.
Monitor labour hire/contractor compliance, including wage payment, overtime, insurances, and workers' compensation.
Prepare materials required for compliance checks such as payroll reviews, overtime audits, and Award wage structure comparisons.
3. Compliance Training & Business Support
Provide guidance and training to operations teams on employment law, Award interpretation, roster requirements, and overtime rules.
Support employee relations (ER) compliance issues and maintain proper documentation of related cases.
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition (Secondary Responsibility)
This function supports business hiring needs and talent pipeline development.
1. End-to-End Recruitment
Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job posting, candidate screening, interview coordination, offer preparation, and onboarding.
Build and maintain a talent pool for operational roles, including warehouse staff, drivers, and other frontline positions.
2. Recruitment Channels & Efficiency Optimisation
Manage recruitment channels (SEEK, LinkedIn, local community platforms, etc.) to improve hiring quality and efficiency.
Work closely with department leaders to clarify hiring requirements, capability profiles, and workforce planning.
3. Onboarding & HR Administrative Support
Administer the onboarding process, including contract preparation, system entry, and document collection.
Support new hire induction and general HR administrative tasks.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in Human Resources, Employment Law, or Business/Management.
Minimum 3 years of HR experience in Australia, with essential exposure to employment law or HR compliance responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of the Fair Work Act, relevant Awards, overtime rules, leave entitlements, termination procedures, and general HR regulatory requirements.
Experience in end-to-end recruitment, with preference for candidates who have hired for warehouse, driver, or operations roles.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and support the implementation of HR policies.
Fluent in both English and Chinese, capable of communicating effectively with the local Australia team and China head office.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with strong multitasking capability.
