At voco Gosford, modern elegance meets warm hospitality in the heart of the Central Coast. With six exciting hospitality venues; including a modern Australian pub, a rooftop bar, and a signature restaurant, and two levels of conference and event space overlooking the stunning Brisbane Waters, we'll cater to both business and leisure travellers, as well as provide a swanky new destination for locals to meet.

As Food & Beverage Manager you'll lead and direct the food and beverage operations across our variety of food and beverage venues, ensuring quality service and standards are maintained to deliver a memorable yet thoughtful, unstuffy and reliable guest experience while always following government regulations concerning health, safety or other requirements.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but you will play a key role in:


• Hiring and training of food & beverage team including supervisors, waitstaff and bar attendants.


• Capacity to build and lead a high-performing and engaged team.


• Commitment to developing and coaching colleagues.


• Train colleagues to make sure they deliver with compliance and to the standards we expect.


• Manage day-to-day staffing needs, plan and assign work ensuring you always have the right staffing.


• Collaborate closely with other departments, such as kitchen, events, and front office, to ensure seamless operations, communicating F&B needs and requirements effectively to other teams.


• Foster positive stakeholder relationships if applicable and assist in providing ongoing information and status reports.


• Collaborating with the Executive Chef and culinary team to create menus that align with the hotel's concept, target market, and budget.


• Work with the management team to establish pricing strategies for food and beverage items that are competitive yet profitable.


• Make sure all food and beverage equipment is in operational condition and regularly cleaned


• Make sure all food and beverage facilities including banquet/conference spaces are clean and properly stocked to anticipated business volume. Notify engineering immediately of any maintenance and repair needs


• Establish and achieve quality and guest satisfaction goals. Help guests with their requests and complaints - making sure you maintain a high level of guest satisfaction


• Analyse guest insights to identify and meet customer expectations and build on guest loyalty


• Regularly communicate with guests to ensure expectations are met

• Manage hotel food and beverage marketing programmes and participate in and maintain system-wide food and beverage marketing programmes and promotions


• Keep an eye on competitor activity / industry innovation. Review and approve menu design and concepts with the Executive Chef


• Make sure food and drinks are secure and stored safely - always keep stock replenished to minimise waste


• Handle food and beverage inventory procedures. Determine minimum and maximum stocks for all food, beverage, material, and equipment


• May also serve as manager on duty


• Creating and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the food & beverage department, including service standards, food handling protocols, sanitation procedures, and customer service guidelines.


• Ensuring that all food and beverage operations comply with relevant health, safety, and sanitation regulations, obtaining necessary permits and licenses and conducting regular inspections to maintain compliance.


• Ability to work autonomously and manage workload and key deliverables within a timeline.


• Procuring all necessary equipment, utensils, glassware, and other supplies required for food and beverage service, ensuring equipment is properly installed and in working order before opening.


• Help prepare the hotel's annual budget and the setting of departmental goals


• Monitor budget and control expenses with a focus on food, beverage, and labour costs


• Identify additional sales opportunities to enhance revenue


• Drive promotions that deliver great dining experiences for guests at a good value


• Make sure credit and financial transactions are handled securely


• Identifying and establishing relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that deliveries are in line with quality standards and budgetary constraints.

What we need from you


• Bachelor's degree / higher education qualification in Hotel Management, culinary arts, or related field preferred.


• At least 4 years of related experience, including management experience.


• Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card, as required by local law.


• A demonstrated capability of collaborating with multiple stakeholders and managing competing priorities.


• Strategic thinking, the ability to explore new ways of working and have an open mind around how we can drive the Hotel forward.


• Must speak local language


• Full working rights in Australia without restrictions.
